Energy Audit’06 conference aims at presenting energy auditing as an effective and proven tool in improving energy efficiency in companies and buildings, as well as boost the integration of renewable energy sources in energy audit procedures and energy performance of buildings.

The conference facilitates a platform for exchange of information, experiences and results gained in energy auditing programmes in EU member states and beyond to countries on starting phase in energy audit activities.

Energy Audit’06 will focus on the specific interest to exchange the experience and expertise as well as proven methodologies and tools in developing capacity and concrete methods and tools at international (and national) level to be implemented for national and local actions.

The conference will also demonstrate with realised examples that the energy audit programmes, methodologies and tools in practice contribute in achieving the international commitments and national targets in increasing energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources as well as reducing the greenhouse gas emissions.

The organisers of Energy Audit’06 wish to gather a broad international participation of focal stakeholders in the field: national ministries and authorities, international associations and financial institutions, national energy agencies, other public bodies, private sector stakeholders and energy auditors and their clients.

The 3-day conference is a part of the International Action Plan adopted in the Renewable Energy Conference in Bonn, June 2004. Energy Audit’06 is also part of the international follow-up of the 2002, a Johannesburg Summit’s Plan of Implementation and contributes to the capacity building and technology transfer under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. It is also one of the activities arranged during the Finnish EU-presidency in the autumn 2006.
