Technology Manager Satu Helynen, Lic.Tech.(Eng.) is leading one of knowledge centers of VTT called Fuel Conversion that comprises research teams for gasification, liquid biofuels, fuel cells and energy concepts. Ms. Helynen has been the coordinator of the national technology programmes Bioenergy (1994-1995) and Wood Energy (1999-2000). Ms. Helynen has been responsible for several background studies for the Finnish Ministry of Trade and Industry in the field of renewable energy, especially bioenergy and its future availability and feasibility for heat and power production. Coordinator of several international projects on large scale use of biomass for combined heat and power.
